The cycling competitions of the 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities and the 9th National Special Olympic Games are underway in Shenzhen.

In the men's C2 3km individual pursuit, 41-year-old Chinese cycling legend Liang Guihua, also captain of China's Paralympic cycling team since 2012, narrowly defeated Shandong's Wang Yonghai by 0.82 seconds to claim gold.

Hailing from Zhongshan, Guangdong, Liang has amassed an impressive career tally of 2 Paralympic golds, 1 silver and 1 bronze. He successfully defended his C2 3km individual pursuit titles at the 2012 London and 2016 Rio Paralympics, breaking world records on multiple occasions. With over 20 medals from Paralympics, Asian Games and World Championships, he stands as a towering figure in adaptive cycling.
