Zhongshan has achieved a milestone as Guangdong's first-of-its-kind public intellectual property license for patent navigation and search data in key industries took effect during a signing ceremony at the Zhongshan Institute for Drug Discovery.

The licensed dataset encompasses patent search data across pharmaceutical sectors including anti-infection chemical drugs and cell and gene therapy technologies. Beyond expanding the practical application of patent navigation outcomes, this initiative offers a replicable model for public institutions to activate public service data assets while protecting data rights.

Notably, the dataset will fuel ZIDD's construction of smart drug research and development assistance platforms. By integrating patent intelligence, bioinformatics and chemical information, it will provide support for key R&D stages such as drug discovery, target prediction and molecular optimization. Simultaneously, it will enhance AI algorithm training capabilities, driving deeper synergies between data elements and artificial intelligence to accelerate pharmaceutical innovation cycles.
