China held a grand ceremony to mark the 80th anniversary of its victory in World War II at Tiananmen Square in Beijing on September 3. Lu Junhui, a 23-year-old law student from Beijing Technology and Business University (BTBU) and originally from Zhongshan, participated in the military parade as a member of the women's militia formation.

Ever since childhood, Lu had nurtured a dream of joining the military. In 2021, she fulfilled this dream by enlisting in Zhongshan and serving as a conscript in the PLA Western Theater Command.

After completing her military service in September 2023, Lu chose to continue her studies at the BTBU and joined the militia unit.

Reflecting on her time in the military, Lu once remarked: "Whether in the barracks or back at school, I take immense pride in being a part of the armed forces of the country."
