The Zhongshan section of the Nansha-Zhongshan Intercity Railway achieved new milestones on September 17 with the topping-out of Xiangshan Station's main structure. Construction now shifts to mechanical and electrical installation, track laying and interior finishing phases.

The entire railway spans 47.6 km, including 28.5 km within Zhongshan. It features 12 newly built stations (one elevated), with 9 stations scheduled for initial operation.

Following Qijiang New Town (formerly Shijilu), Zhongshan, Torch and Xingzhong, Xiangshan Station becomes the fifth Zhongshan-section station to be capped.

As the ninth station along the Zhongshan section, Xiangshan Station comprises a two-level underground structure with partial third-level extension and four entrances. Upon completion, it will significantly enhance citizen mobility and regional transit connectivity.
