After three years of refurbishment, the Sunwen West Road pedestrian street reopened on the evening of September 28, greeting residents and tourists with a refreshed appearance.

Spanning 497 meters east-to-west from Zhongshan Department Store to Zhongtian Square, the pedestrian street connects Sunwen Middle Road and Xingzhong Plaza. Along its path stand over a dozen century-old cultural relics and heritage buildings, including iconic landmarks like Sihao Hotel and Jincheng Restaurant.

As dusk fell, soft lighting transformed the ancient street into a dazzling tapestry of light and shadow. Century-old brand signs shone under the glow, while intricate details of traditional crafts, such as lantern shadow designs and plaster carvings, were rediscovered, reviving their historic elegance.

The highlight of the evening was a time travel-themed cultural gala at Xiangshan Theater. Through a time-crossing dialogue between a modern youth and historical figures strolling the street, the performance seamlessly interwove Xiangshan Ancient City's millennium-long history, Sunwen West Road's century-old splendor, and Zhongshan's aspirational future.

During the National Day-Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, Sunwen West Road will host a series of vibrant culture and tourism activities, including a food culture festival, the "Adventure in Xiangshan" Interactive Tour, intangible cultural heritage parades, live concerts, and etc.
