Zuobu village in Nanlang subdistrict on the evening of November 8 celebrated its 27th seniors' banquet with 80 tables set for over 800 attendees, including villagers and guests from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and overseas areas, featuring vibrant cultural performances and heartfelt wishes.
The event showcased lively local art: Guangdong music "Butterflies among the Flowers," Cantonese opera excerpts such as "Romance of the Phoenix Chamber", and the Cantonese song "Ode to Lychee."
Currently, Zuobu Village has 265 residents aged over 60, including 15 over 88, with the oldest villager aged 93.
"The event is so lively. We are deeply moved," shared Mr Suen, a 68-year-old Hong Kong resident who relocated to Zuobu Village five years ago after retiring. "The air is fresh, the environment keeps improving, and my friends from Macao visit often, always praising the village highly."
