More wild plants of Pu'er tea discovered in Zhongshan
Updated: 2025-11-27    Source: Zhongshan Daily Large Medium Small Print

In September, the Zhongshan Nature Reserve Management Center and South China National Botanical Garden jointly discovered a large camellia-family tree (Pu'er tea) during a field survey in Zhongshan's Xiangshan Provincial Nature Reserve. It marked a new wild plant record for the city.

Based on species distribution patterns, technicians suspected more plants existed at that time. After two months of surveys, additional plants were recently located within the reserve region.

The new finds include two large clustered trees of Pu'er tea in good condition, with nearly 100 sprouting seedlings nearby.
