The 5th Global Conference of the Cantonese recently opened in Guangdong's Shaoguan. Nearly 800 Cantonese people from around the world gathered to share hometown bonds and explore development opportunities. 

The Ten Outstanding Cantonese Youth list was announced at the opening ceremony, with Li Jiayi, a Good Samaritan of Guangdong, a young Cantonese opera artist from Guangzhou Cantonese Opera Theatre and a Plum Blossom Award winner, making the list.

A first-class artist born in Zhongshan, Li has starred in nearly 50 productions over 20 years, with notable works such as Princess Wencheng. She actively promotes Cantonese opera through community performances and school outreach programs.

Li pledged to further refine her artistry, advance Cantonese opera's heritage and innovation, and called for collective efforts to expand Cantonese culture's global reach.
