Yu Minhong, founder of New Oriental and CEO of East Buy, led his livestreaming team to the Sunwen West Road pedestrian street, the first stop of the "East Buy Sees the World" Zhongshan tour, on the evening of January 11.

"Zhongshan is a place worth visiting again and again," Yu said. Over two hours, the East Buy team explored qilou (arcade buildings), immersed in Zhongshan's culture and tasted local specialties, drawing enthusiastic online responses.

Qilou represents architectural innovations brought by overseas Chinese after having seen the world, with rows forming early modern urban outlines, Yu said. He believed the qilou on Sunwen West Road is more exemplary among such structures.

At the Zhongshan Cultural Creativity & Intangible Heritage Museum, Yu learned about Zhongshan's intangible cultural heritage, including Qiwan Golden Dragon, Dachong rosewood carving, bone-wood inlay crafts, and dragon boat racing. At the Sun Qizhen Restaurant, he sampled regional dishes such as Shaxi braised pork, Xiaolan fried fish balls and crispy grass carp.

The East Buy team will host a series of livestreams promoting Zhongshan specialties. Yu and East Buy anchor Xin Ran will visit the Museum of Dr Sun Yat-sen, Sun Yat-sen Memorial Secondary School, Zhongshan Studio City, Zhongshan Museum and Chinese Rosewood Culture Expo City.

In a business dialogue session, Yu will invite 8 entrepreneurs in Zhongshan to discuss food culture, tech innovation, and entrepreneurial stories while showcasing specialty products.
