Zhongshan on January 20 launched the inaugural 11 projects under the "Beautiful Rivers and Lakes" program, with total investment nearing 20 billion yuan.

During the 15th Five-Year period (2026–2030), Zhongshan plans 215 water management projects worth 1.022 trillion yuan, focusing on four aspects: flood resilience, water resource allocation and security, river network management and aquatic ecosystem protection and restoration, and digital twin water conservation.

This first batch of such projects, worth 19.45 billion yuan in total, covers flood control, water allocation, water environment restoration, and digital twin water conservation.
