Liu Meixin, standing committee member and United Front Work Department head of the CPC Zhongshan Municipal Committee, met with Valerio De Parolis, Italian consul general in Guangzhou on February 9. Officials from foreign affairs, commerce, investment promotion and overseas Chinese affairs departments attended the meeting.

Liu Meixin highlighted Zhongshan's strategic location, industrial strengths and global partnerships, noting Italy's "SME Kingdom" reputation aligns perfectly with Zhongshan's modern industrial clusters. She identified vast potential in trade and investment, industrial development, and culture and tourism, inviting Italian businesses to invest in Zhongshan while proposing sister-city ties to deepen people-to-people exchanges.

Valerio De Parolis praised Zhongshan's development, citing the visits to Mingyang Smart Energy Group and the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link west island as testaments to its manufacturing prowess and China's infrastructure excellence. He emphasized decades of industrial design collaboration, pledging support for Zhongshan enterprises' global expansion and business tours. Future priorities include substantive cooperation in investment and advanced technology, plus cultural exchanges through art exhibitions and concerts to showcase Italian heritage.
