The main span of the Jiya Waterway Bridge on the Guangzhou-Zhongshan-Jiangjiang Grand Bridge was connected on February 10, as a 72-ton steel beam, measuring 6 meters long and 17 meters wide, was precisely hoisted into place.

This marks the successful closure of China's first long-span high-speed railway cable-stayed bridge with hybrid composite girders and twin main beams.
As the railway's first fully closed main bridge, it establishes a robust foundation for subsequent construction including girder erection and track laying after joining up.
