On the evening of February 8, Caobian Village in Zhongshan's South District hosted the "Caobian Night Banquet — Galloping Forward to Welcome the Chinese New Year." The event, centered around the "horse" as its spiritual symbol, offered residents and tourists a cultural feast blending traditional charm with contemporary flair through diverse programs, including singing and dancing, clapper talk, magic shows, and intangible cultural heritage performances.

Concurrently, the 2026 Rural Chinese New Year Carnival series launched in South District, with Caobian Village as its hub and four core activities: public calligraphy services, holiday markets, village-specific Spring Festival galas, and historical village tours. The 17-day "Caobian Holiday Market" has also commenced, featuring a rich array of offerings such as intangible cultural heritage crafts, coffee and light meals, and cultural and creative products.
