Zhongshan's CPI falls 2.1% YoY in January

Zhongshan's Consumer Price Index (CPI) dropped 2.1% year-on-year in January, and unchanged month-on-month, according to the Zhongshan Survey Team of the National Bureau of Statistics.

Year-on-year breakdown:

Food prices fell 3.4%, non-food prices declined 1.8%;

Consumer goods prices decreased 2.6%, service prices dropped 1.6%;

Core CPI (excluding food and energy prices) declined 1.4%.

Category-specific changes (on year-on-year basis):

Other supplies & services prices: +9.3%;

Household goods & services prices: +2.0%;

Transportation & communication prices: -6.9%;

Clothing prices: -5.3%;

Food, tobacco, alcohol & dining out prices: -2.2%;

Education, culture & entertainment prices: -1.4%;

Housing prices: -0.9%;

Healthcare prices: -0.4%.
