On March 25, Ouyang Jinquan, vice mayor of Zhongshan, met with the delegation from the Zhongshan Association of Ecuador at Zhongshan Convention Center Center, and had discussions with honorary president Washington Hagó, also former ambassador of Ecuador to China, and president He Maoliang. The two sides exchanged views on Zhongshan's business environment and investment policies, economic and trade ties, sister-city relations, and specialty industries, exploring new avenues for "Overseas Chinese + Commerce" cooperation and deepening international sister-city exchanges.

The delegation, comprising overseas Chinese leaders, entrepreneurs and experts from timber, trade, logistics and mining sectors, toured Zhongshan Museum and Sunwen West Road before the meeting to experience Zhongshan's cultural heritage and new changes.

The delegation would pay visits to Nantou and Huangpu towns for economic and trade inspections, aligning with industrial planning and investment policies to promote Zhongshan's premium products in the South American market. Washington Hagó would also visit Nanlang subdistrict to trace his roots.
