The 2026 Guangdong International Overseas Chinese Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition kicked off in Zhongshan at the Tsuihang International Technology Innovation Center on March 31.

This year's competition includes a general industry contest and a challenge-based contest.
The general industry contest, covering cutting-edge fields such as AI chips, large models, humanoid robots and autonomous driving, aims to identify high-potential projects.
The challenge-based contest targets optoelectronics, biopharmaceuticals and other key industries. Enterprises issue technical challenge lists and invite global overseas Chinese talent to propose solutions.
At the opening ceremony, the Zhongshan Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese signed collaboration agreements with local industrial platforms, including Cuiheng Group, National Health Technology Park and Zhongshan Overseas Students Pioneer Park of China, to jointly establish a full-chain service system spanning project selection, incubation and acceleration, and industrial matchmaking.
Three 2025 competition projects from Canada and China's Macao and Shenzhen also signed agreements to establish operations in Zhongshan.
Registration is now open and will run through the end of May.
