In many people's eyes, a "mermaid" is often associated with a slim, flawless figure.

But Yean from Singapore is breaking that stereotype. At 93 kilograms, she proudly embraces her identity as a plus-size mermaid.

From March 25 to 29, she traveled to Zhongshan to train at a professional diving center, preparing for an upcoming mermaid competition in Taiwan, China. 

What draws her back is Zhongshan's rare 5-meter-deep pool — something hard to find in Singapore — along with its professional training facilities and an open, inclusive atmosphere.
