A temple fair parade kicked off on April 14 at the North Deity Ancient Temple in Xixiang subdistrict, Bao'an district in Shenzhen. Zhongshan's Drunken Dragon Dance, a national intangible cultural heritage item, stole the show at the event, drawing massive crowds both on-site and online.

The 500-year-old temple fair will run through April 21, blending folk traditions, culture and tourism, and consumption via roving parades, performances, and a food market.

Originating from Changzhou Village in Zhongshan's West District, Drunken Dragon Dance was inscribed as a national intangible cultural heritage item in 2008. The team from the Changzhou Beibao Drunken Dragon & Lion Dance Martial Arts Hall delivered a passionate performance that wowed Shenzhen audiences and drew waves of applause.
