The 2026 Zhongshan Tour for Overseas PhD Talents (Sci-tech Session) took place at the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (Zhongshan) Scientists Town on June 10.

A group of overseas top talents and young innovators in the sci-tech field were invited to visit the Zhongshan Institute of Advanced Cryogenic Technology, the Zhongshan Technology Innovation Park and Cuiheng New District. Through site visits, policy briefings, project roadshows and networking sessions, the guests gained an in-depth understanding of Zhongshan's technology innovation frontier, with the aim of helping high-quality projects take root in the city.

During the event, several sci-tech distinguished talents in Zhongshan, including InterHill MED CEO XuTao, were awarded certificates as "Zhongshan Sci-Tech Innovation Ambassadors." Going forward, they will serve as ambassadors, promoting Zhongshan worldwide as fertile ground for innovation and entrepreneurship. A research team from a national engineering research center at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University also conducted a roadshow on cutting-edge sci-tech achievements.

Zhongshan's solid industrial base is anchored by 100-billion-yuan-scale clusters in electronic information, equipment manufacturing and biomedicine. The city is now making a concerted push into emerging fields such as biomedicine, optoelectronics and optics, artificial intelligence, and new energy.
