Zhongshan's total imports and exports rose 13.1 percent year on year to 162.02 billion yuan in the first half of 2026, according to Gongbei Customs. Exports reached 139.75 billion yuan, up 10.8 percent.

High‑tech product exports jumped 51.8 percent to 32.42 billion yuan, raising their share of the total to 23.2 percent. Integrated circuit exports surged 454.1 percent to 8.12 billion yuan.

Exports of mechanical and electrical products came in at 114.11 billion yuan, a 13.2 percent increase. Within this category, home appliance exports grew 6 percent to 34.92 billion yuan, driven by persistent heatwaves in Europe and other regions that fueled demand for "cooling appliances."

In addition, exports under bonded supervision rose 963.9 percent year on year to 8.34 billion yuan.
