The Chung Shan Association Singapore held a grand gala dinner to mark its 189th anniversary on August 8, bringing together over 200 people of Zhongshan and representatives of the overseas Chinese community to rekindle hometown bonds and discuss future development.

The association unveiled its new logo at the event and presented scholarships to outstanding students from the community.

Founded in 1821, the Chung Shan Association Singapore annually hosts events such as Chinese New Year gatherings and Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations to reinforce cultural identity and belonging among the overseas Zhongshan community.

Since 2007, the association has ramped up support for young members to visit their ancestral hometown and trace their roots, encouraging younger generations to gain a deeper understanding of Zhongshan and China.
