The Zhongshan session of the 2026 Southern China Book Fair kicked off on August 27 at the Zhongshan Expo Center and will run through August 31.

Centered on the main venue, this year's event also features a "Zhongshan Plus" online platform, with sub-venues set up across towns and subdistricts, commercial areas, communities, major roads and other locations. Special bus lines and reading corners on BRT lines extend the reading experience to commuters on the go.

The main venue hosts core activities including themed exhibitions, book sales, lectures and interactive activities, offering a centralized learning space. Its 3,000-square-meter book sales area features titles across all categories.

During the event, cultural scholars including Bai Yansong and Ji Lianhai will deliver lectures on such topics as history, culture, classical literature, and social issues, engaging in dialogue with audience members.

The main venue also features zones for smart reading, trendy cultural products, wellness experiences, and book-themed cafes, as well as night-time cultural activities.
