The Chinese sports delegation for the 20th Asian Games was announced at a meeting in Beijing on September 4.

The squad includes 5 athletes from Zhongshan: divers Chen Yiwen and Lin Shan, swimmer Wang Xue'er, track and field athlete Chen Xinxuan, and fencer Peng Shengwei.

Chen Yiwen, a leading figure in China's diving team, has achieved remarkable success in international competitions in recent years. At the 2024 Paris Olympics, she swept both the women's individual and synchronized 3m springboard events, winning double gold and bringing Zhongshan its first-ever Summer Olympic gold medal.
