Zhongshan received 2,934,600 tourist visits during the 2026 National Day holiday, data showed, including 466,900 overnight visits, with tourism spending reaching 1.749 billion yuan.

Compared with the 2025 holiday, the daily averages of tourist visits, overnight visits and tourism spending rose 12.98 percent, 15.00 percent and 14.26 percent respectively.

Drawing on key areas such as Xiangshan Ancient City and the Sun Yat-sen's Hometown Tourist Area, Zhongshan held major events during the holiday, including the Nanyang-style Tourism Week, the Greater Bay Area (Zhongshan) Pop Music Week and the Rural Waterfront Coffee and Music Festival.

Through the culture and tourism coordination mechanism linking towns and subdistricts in the city's central, southern, northern, and eastern-western areas, more than 200 themed events were held, boosting win-win cooperation among more than 300 model merchants.
