The 2026 "A Date with China · Meet Guangdong" international media tour continued in Zhongshan on October 21. The delegation brought together foreign journalists, experts, online influencers and Gen-Z youth representatives from the United States, Kazakhstan, Italy, Turkey, Egypt, Russia, Venezuela and elsewhere, along with reporters from China Daily Online and other Chinese media outlets. They visited the companies of Taili and Longsys and Yakou village.

"I am amazed by Taili's products, like stab-resistant gloves and bulletproof vests. I had no idea Chinese manufacturing had reached such a high level. These products would be highly competitive on the international market," said Douglas Dueno, an American expert at China Daily. Handling the products in person, he said, had genuinely changed his view of Chinese manufacturing.

At Longsys, the delegation toured the company museum to learn about China's millennia-long history of information storage, and to see how Zhongshan's smart manufacturing is carrying that heritage into the digital age. "It is incredible to see the evolution from bulky computers to tiny nanoscale devices. China has done a remarkable job of pushing through the hardest technical challenges along the way," said Ahmed Fekri Ahmed Elsayed, an Egyptian online influencer.

At Yakou village, the guests roamed along the embankment taking a sightseeing bus. "What a peaceful, harmonious life," marveled Jannelize Bessengery, a South African online influencer. "Away from the big cities and the skyscrapers, you can truly relax here."
