The Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link has handled more than 80 million vehicle trips since it opened, said the administration center on October 30.

The link has carried about a quarter of all traffic crossing the Pearl River Estuary since its opening in June 2024. Average daily traffic was 92,000 vehicle trips in 2025 and has risen to 103,000 so far in 2026.

More than 200,000 people now use the link every day, saving an average of 1.5 hours each. At Guangdong's per capita GDP output of 57 yuan per hour, that time saving is worth at least 17.1 million yuan a day.
