Peng Shengwei, a fencer from Zhongshan, and his teammates defeated the strong Kazakhstan team, helping the Chinese junior fencing team win the men's team epee champion.
The makeshift bridge, scheduled to be completed in seven to 10 days, will connect Sanmin Island to the town of Minzhong in the neighboring city of Zhongshan.
