A video conference was held on April 14 at the Zhongshan Education and Sports Bureau on the deployment of students returning to school for the 2020 spring semester.

According to the unified arrangement of the Department of Education of Guangdong Province, schools in Zhongshan will open in three batches. The first includes senior high school grade three and junior high school grade three students, who will return school on April 27. The second includes senior high school grades one and two, secondary vocational schools, and junior high school grades one and two students. The third includes primary schools and kindergartens students. The second and third batches shall resume school later than May 11 and the specific date will be decided after further study. The opening time of colleges and universities shall be subject to the notice of the Department of Education of Guangdong Province.

All schools should complete all preparations 2 weeks before students return to school. The preparations for senior high grade three and junior high grade three should be completed by April 16, and the preparations for other grades in primary, secondary schools, and kindergartens should be completed by April 26.

There are 13 specific measures and requirements for the reopening of schools. Among them, it is necessary to strengthen the health management and service of key groups of personnel, and only when their nucleic acid tests are negative then can they return to school.

When school starts on April 27, the management measures shall include student body temperature reporting and a parents' commitment system.
