Starting April, 8 special groups including overage workers, internship students and couriers will be covered by employment injury insurance. This policy is expected to benefit more than 3 million people in Guangdong province.

The 8 groups can be divided into 4 types: workers without labor relations with working units, personnel of village committees and Party branch committees, new business form employees and volunteers.

Employers can voluntarily choose to pay the employment injury insurance for these special employees, and the insured can receive corresponding benefits in accordance with regulations.

Before June 30, 2021, the lower and upper limits of employment injury insurance paid to individual employees are 4053.6 yuan and 20,268 yuan. The new injury insurance payment ranges will take effect starting July.
