According to the employment and enterprise recruitment data released by the Zhongshan Human Resources and Social Security Bureau on April 30, in the first quarter of this year, some 13,000 new jobs were created in Zhongshan, 65.4% more than last year, and the registered urban unemployment rate was 2.46%.
The overall employment trend in Zhongshan increased in three aspects and decreased in one:
The demand for workers increased. By the end of March, the total demand for workers of 2,410 designated enterprises was 628,000, a year-on-year increase of 2.7% and a month-on-month growth of 4.79%.
The average income increased. In March, the average monthly income of non-remote employees in designated enterprises increased significantly by 12.5% year-on-year.
The number of insured employees increased. By the end of March, the numbers of people joining enterprise worker insurance, employment injury insurance and unemployment insurance were 1,922,200, 1,714,500 and 1,641,500 respectively, up 8.37%, 12.9% and 9.15% from a year earlier.
The employee turnover rate decreased. In March, the number of newly recruited employees in designated enterprises decreased by 1.3% month-on-month.
In the first quarter of this year, more than 240 offline job fairs were held in Zhongshan, with more than 8,000 participating enterprises offering about 103,000 jobs to attract nearly 140,000 job seekers. A total of 120 job fairs were held online, offering 75,000 jobs from nearly 4,000 enterprises and attracting 270,000 interested citizens.
