The 2021 National College Entrance Examination, also known as Gaokao, kicked off on June 7.

This year, a total of 15,178 Zhongshan students took the test across 569 exam rooms in 10 testing sites and a standby isolation test site. A medical treatment site for students confirmed with COVID-19 or students with a positive nucleic acid test result was set up as well.

The 10 testing sites were: Sun Yat-sen Memorial Secondary School, Zhongshan No.1 Middle School, Zhongshan Overseas Chinese Secondary School High School, Zhongshan Experimental Middle School, Zhongshan Guishan High School, Zhongshan Haotou Middle School, Zhongshan No.2 Middle School, Zhongshan Longshan Middle School, Zhongshan Xiaolan Senior High School, and Zhongshan Affiliated High School of South China Normal University.

All of the examination sites have paid special attention to epidemic prevention and control measures. The Zhongshan Education and Sports Bureau, together with such departments as public security, state secrets protection, health and cyberspace administration carried out a safeguard joint action around key areas including epidemic prevention and control, examination safety, transportation, environment and food safety to ensure a safe, sound, heartwarming environment for all examinees.
