Zhongshan sees stable, improved employment in first half

In the first half of this year, the overall employment and entrepreneurship situation in Zhongshan was stable, showing a steady improvement from the previous year.

About 32,000 new jobs were created in Zhongshan in the first half, 7,500 more year-on-year. The registered urban unemployment rate was 2.55%. Enterprises made steady progress while the number of employees and wages increased concurrently.

Among Zhongshan's 2,410 designated enterprises, about 622,300 employees were recruited, up 2.63% year-on-year. This number rebounded for the first time after falling in several consecutive years. The average monthly salary of employees was 4,803 yuan, up 14.14% from a year earlier.

In the first half, the total human resources supply and demand amounted to possible services for 477,800 people, up 56.26% year-on-year. About 341,900 people were requested, an annual increase of 69.44%.

According to the Report on China's Employment Market Prospects in the Second Quarter of 2021, Zhongshan's CIER index was 1.78, that is, each job seeker has an average of 1.78 job opportunities, ranking 6th in nationwide.
