The "Zhongshan Special Service Area for Foreign Talent" has been established recently.

"In the past, foreign talent had to make at least two trips to apply for a work-type residence permit in Zhongshan," said an official from Zhongshan Science and Technology Bureau, adding that foreign talent must first submit required materials to the science and technology department, receive verification materials, and then go to the public security department to apply for the residence permit.

To further optimize foreign-related public services, Zhongshan Science and Technology Bureau and Zhongshan Public Security Bureau jointly set up the "Zhongshan Special Service Area for Foreign Talent" allowing foreign nationals to simultaneously apply for work permits and work-type residence permits at one service window.

In recent years, Zhongshan Science and Technology Bureau has continuously improved management and services for foreigners applying for work permits in China by providing online and rapid services. It also opens a green channel for foreign talent who come to Zhongshan for work exchanges during the pandemic through such measures as issuing the Confirmation Letter of Foreign High-end Talent.
