Since Huangpu Town started to promote and implement the flexible employment model for mothers in July 2022, thirty-eight local enterprises have been put on records to set up 900 "jobs for mothers", and 306 have been employed.
Josoo, a household appliances maker in Huangpu's Maxin Industrial Park, is one of the enterprises to offer "jobs for mothers". Employed mothers can take leave anytime, and need only to finish their delayed work for the rest of the day of leave.
Josoo also set up a mother-and-baby room in the dormitory building to provide infant and child care services to working mothers. During summer and winter vacations, the company also allows employees to bring their children to work, and provides a lounge for children to do homework, read books and rest.
The "Jobs for mothers" model not only helps Josoo reduce the burden and worries of female employees but also enhance employee satisfaction and loyalty, thus reducing the quit rate and labor costs.
"Human touch can help enhance the company's social image and reputation, thus bringing more business opportunities," said Zhang Xiping, a head of Josoo.
