The groundbreaking ceremony for the No.1 Middle School of Zhongshan Yueshan school area was held at its former site on December 27.

December 27 marked the school's 331st anniversary of its conception and the 115th anniversary of its construction. From other titles such as Tiecheng Private School in 1692 to Fengshan Academy in 1748 to the Fengshan Government Middle School in 1908, and to No.1 Middle School of Zhongshan known today, the school has a long history of more than 300 years and has become an icon in the field of education in Zhongshan.

In 2009, in order to Zhongshan residents' needs for quality educational resources, No.1 Middle School of Zhongshan relocated to and expanded at the foot of Jinzi Mountain from Sunwen Road. In 2023, Zhongshan approved that the Yueshan school area will be built at the former site of No.1 Middle School of Zhongshan in Shiqi District.
