Zhongshan on March 26 presented letters of appointment to 33 distinguished talents, including Zhang Yanjie and Lin Zezhao, and awarded plaques to 3 professional title evaluation committees and 10 doctoral and postdoctoral platforms newly-established.

The newly-hired distinguished talents are specialized in the industries of electrical machinery, biological food and chemical engineering, engineering construction, inspection and testing, standardization and high-skilled fields, etc. Four of them hold doctoral degrees or above, and six hold master's degrees. Twenty-one of them are under the age of 45, accounting for over 64%.

Zhongshan has established 45 professional evaluation committees so far, covering electromechanical, construction, food, chemical, water conservancy and hydropower, electric power, agricultural and other engineering fields, pharmaceutical, arts and crafts, agricultural technology and other traditional industries, as well as Internet of Things, cyber security, express delivery and engineering technology and other emerging industries.

Since last year, Zhongshan added one national-level postdoctoral platform and nine provincial ones. Currently, Zhongshan has a total of 104 doctoral and postdoctoral platforms.

Over the past five years, Zhongshan has spent over 68 million yuan in support for postdoctoral platforms and has introduced more than 300 postdoctoral researchers, with 192 of them choosing to stay and work in Zhongshan.
