The World Asthma Day falls on May 7. On the afternoon, the launching of the "Health Lecturing Tour" and the ceremony to celebrate Zhongshan Torch Development Zone Hospital's (TDZH) becoming a cooperative hospital to Guangdong Alliance of Traditional Chinese Medicine on Asthma Research (GDAsthma) was held in TDZH.

GDAsthma, founded in 2006 in Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine, consists of experts on traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine who are dedicated to respiratory diseases research. The expert members are from a variety of hospitals, including The First Affiliated Hospital, Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Guangzhou Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Guangdong Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, etc.

Since its establishment, the alliance now has nearly ten members in Guangdong. After TDZH become its cooperative hospital, asthma patients in Torch Development Zone, even in the whole Zhongshan City, will enjoy state-of-the-art treatment.

According to President Shi Linong, the Hospital has set up a "Health Lecturing Team" which mainly consists of volunteer CPC members who will go to government departments, companies, communities and schools to deliver lectures on health knowledge, disease prevention and treatment to different groups.
