Since September 18, the Zhongshan Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has distributed an influenza vaccine for the new season to town (district) vaccination clinics. Recently, citizens have been able to be vaccinated in 22 town (district) vaccination clinics in Zhongshan. This excludes Sanjiao and Banfu towns. 

At present, only the trivalent influenza vaccine for children under 3 years old, and trivalent and quadruvalent influenza vaccines for adults and children over 3 years old are available. The component of the quadruvalent influenza vaccine has added a type B Yamagata antigen that the trivalent influenza vaccine does not have. The quadruvalent influeza vaccine offers a more comprehensive protection against flu strains. 

Public health experts from Zhongshan CDC remind that an annual influenza vaccination is the most effective way to prevent influenza. It significantly reduces the risk of influenza and serious complications for those who have been vaccinated.
