Zhongshan People's Hospital (ZSPH), China Mobile Zhongshan Branch and China Mobile (Chengdu) Industrial Research Institute on October 16 established a strategic cooperative relationship. 

According to their cooperation agreement, all parties will give full access to information technology means such as 5G network, Internet of Things, big data, artificial intelligence and cloud computing to jointly construct a 5G-based service system that combines "Internet plus" and "smart hospital". 

On the same day, a 5G-based cross-provincial telesurgery was conducted between ZSPH and Yanjin County People's Hospital in Yunnan Province. With the help of mobile 5G network technology, the two hospitals were able to take advantage of the real-time transmission of high-definition surgical videos. 

Under the guidance of experts from ZSPH, a team of doctors from 1,300 kilometers away successfully completed a laparoscopic inguinal herniorrhaphy. 

In March this year, China Mobile Zhongshan Branch opened Zhongshan's first 5G base station, and in May it made the first 5G phone call in the city. According to the plan, China Mobile Zhongshan Branch will construct 196 5G base stations and complete the network coverage of key areas such as major business circles and industrial parks within 2019.
