The relief standards and requirements of Xiaolan Town's "Charitable Relief Measures for Impoverished People Due to Illness" will be adjusted in affect starting from July 1.

The adjustment mainly includes 5 aspects. For example, the annual (capped) limit of general medical assistance has been raised from 20,000 yuan to 30,000 yuan; special medical assistance has been increased from 30% to 35% of the total assistance, the upper limit per instance has been raised from 6,000 yuan to 8,000 yuan; and the number of applicable major diseases has been increased from 8 to 25.

In August 2019, the Xiaolan Red Cross Society and the Xiaolan Charity Association formulated and implemented the Charitable Relief Measures for Impoverished People Due to Illness, aiming to provide general medical assistance, serious illness assistance and special medical assistance for poor families with household registration in Xiaolan. A total of 378 people were assisted and 1.69 million yuan was distributed from 2019 to 2020.
