The East District Community Health Service Center unveiled its inpatient department on December 20, marking the operation of the first community health center-based inpatient department in Zhongshan.

This inpatient department was renovated from the original building on the third floor of the East District Community Health Service Center. It covers an area of 1,300 square meters, with 2 emergency beds, 30 ordinary hospital beds, and 22 medical workers. Each of the 12 inpatient wards are equipped with independent air-conditioners, toilets, network televisions, hot-water systems, central oxygen supply systems, as well as electronic and manual beds with anti-bedsore mattresses.

"The inpatient department will provide convenient and professional rehabilitation services for patients with a definitive diagnosis, stable condition, and those needing long-term care," said Cai Xiong, deputy director of the East District Community Health Service Center, adding that patients can be reimbursed for hospitalization just as in first-class medical institutions. Meanwhile, the medical care reimbursement system will soon be available starting January 1, 2022.
