June 14 marked the 19th World Blood Donor Day, with the them of "Donating Blood is an Act of Solidarity" this year.

From 1998 to now, nearly 1.2 million people in Zhongshan have participated in voluntary blood donation, with a total donated blood volume of nearly 250 tons. Nearly 450,000 people have donated blood for multiple times. The blood donation rate per thousand people in Zhongshan stood at 14.3, higher than the national average figure (2.9).

Zhongshan has been awarded the honorary title of China's "Outstanding City in Voluntary Blood Donation" for 11 consecutive times since 1998.
