The 4th Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Chinese Medicine Inheritance Innovation and Development Conference opened in Zhongshan on August 25, with academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering, experts in traditional Chinese medicine, famous TCM practitioners, and representatives of the TCM sector from Macao and Hong Kong attending.

In order to improve the policies and measures regarding the development of the traditional Chinese medicine sector, Zhongshan has introduced the Implementation Plan on the Construction of High-quality Health Service System of Zhongshan and the Zhongshan TCM Innovation and Development Action Plan (2021-2023) in recent years.

Zhongshan has also cultivated 900 TCM experts through a series of programs, including the Traditional Chinese Medicine Master Academic inheritance Project, TCM physician training and apprenticeship, TCM learning programs and etc. At present, seven persons from Zhongshan have been selected as "Guangdong Famous Herbalist Doctors" and 3 as "Guangdong Outstanding Young Herbalist Doctors".

Besides, Zhongshan has developed a comprehensive traditional Chinese medicine service network and a "15-minute TCM service circle" at the grassroots level.
