The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) and the Xiaolan town government signed a cooperation framework agreement on April 9. The two sides will co-build the commercialization center for biotechnology and clinical drug trial base.

The facility, located in Zhongshan's Xiaolan Town, will operate basing on PolyU's competence in innovation and entrepreneurship, sci-tech research, and technology transfer and Xiaolan's regional and industrial advantages. This innovative commercialization platform for technology will be built to boost the integrated development of biomedicine between Guangdong and Hong Kong and bring more high-quality medical services to local people.

Zhongshan's superior geographical location, wider radiation range and solid foundation of biomedicine provide excellent opportunities for future development ,said Wong Wing-tak, deputy president of PolyU.
