By signing an agreement with the Hong Kong government on May 14, Zhongshan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine became a medical institution included in Hong Kong's Elderly Health Care Voucher Greater Bay Area Pilot Scheme. It is expected to launch the service by the fourth quarter of this year.

Under the expansion plan announced by the Hong Kong government on May 2, twelve medical institutions in the Greater Bay Area were added, increasing the number of pilot institutions from seven to nineteen and achieving full coverage across all nine mainland cities within the Greater Bay Area. As one of the newly added institutions, Zhongshan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine will offer medical services to 1.78 million eligible elderly people in Hong Kong.

The Hong Kong government launched the Elderly Health Care Voucher Scheme in 2009. Starting in July 2024, Zhongshan Chen Xinghai Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine started to accept the use of vouchers.
