Zhongshan's Xiaolan Town witnessed a healthcare milestone on March 5, as the Zhongshan Chen Xinghai Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine (中山陈星海中西医结合医院) was officially upgraded to become the Affiliated Hospital of Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine of Guangdong Pharmaceutical University (GDPU).

The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, GDPU and the affiliated hospital signed a tripartite agreement, planning to establish a Guangdong-Hong Kong rehabilitation research center of integrated Chinese and Western medicine. 

The center will focus on clinical research, technology development, commercialization of achievements and talent cultivation to create a high-level collaborative platform. Future priorities include rehabilitation for neurological disorders, musculoskeletal diseases and geriatric conditions, integrating modern techniques with traditional Chinese medicine.

GDPU also designated the hospital as a "Traditional Chinese Medicine Training Base for Western-trained Practitioners," committing to joint cultivation of interdisciplinary professionals in integrated care.
