On April 15, Zhongshan citizen Miss Bai made an appointment in advance for the instant card-printing service. She submitted the application to the bank teller of the head office of Zhongshan Rural Commercial Bank. After 10 minutes, she received a brand-new third-generation social security card.

The third-generation social security card instant printing service was launched by the Zhongshan Human Resources and Social Security Bureau. The first instant social security card making machine has been put into operation in Zhongshan Rural Commercial Bank.

"Applicants need to make an appointment in advance and then submit their information to the service window. The on-site service process takes about 10 to 20 minutes." Bank officials explained that at present the service is only open to insured persons who have urgent needs like admission registration, discharge settlement, or prenatal examination.

At present, instant card-printing service is available at 9 branches of Zhongshan Rural Commercial Bank. For the next step, the Zhongshan Human Resources and Social Security Bureau will conduct approval and preparatory work of the instant card-printing service with 7 other cooperative banks, and strive to cover about 100 total branches by the end of June this year.
