Zhongshan launched its online notary and contract-signing system on April 20. The system that is jointly launched by the Zhongshan Real Estate Transaction Management Center and the Zhongshan Notary Office allows buyers and sellers to sign contracts online at different places and time.
"With the online notary and contract-signing system, the entire online signing process can be completed in about 5 minutes," said Du Jingyang, a lawyer with Guangdong Bangren Law Office. "When the property developers successfully forward the electronic contract to the notary office, the notary office will return the QR code. Property buyers can scan the code through WeChat and sign the contract online through face recognition and electronic signature."
At present, the only notary institution that can complete the system connection with the trading center is the Zhongshan Xiangshan Notary Office, which is authorized to use the official seal of the enterprise and the private seal of the legal person to carry out electronic notarization and online signing.
Feng Ziqiang, deputy director of the Zhongshan Real Estate Transaction Management Center, said that at this stage, 5-6 property developers in Zhongshan have entered the online signing system pilot. "We will expand the pilot of notary offices, and all notary offices in the city will interface with our system in the future."
