According to data released by the Zhongshan Investigation Team of the National Bureau of Statistics, the food price index in Zhongshan rose 14.1% and consumer price index (CPI) rose 3.0% from a month earlier in May.
In response, Zhongshan launched social assistance and security standard improvement and measures linked to the increasing prices, and has issued temporary price subsidies.
The temporary price subsidy standard for May was 217.8 yuan per person and 29,188 citizens benefited, with a total of 6,357,146.4 yuan of subsidies distributed.
