Starting from this month, another 5 notary offices can now handle electronic notarization online in addition to the Xiangshan Notary Office.

Since the Online Signing System for Electronic Notarization in Zhongshan was officially launched on April 20, real estate development enterprises and buyers can choose to sign contracts through the Online Signing System for Electronic Notarization when they cannot be present to sign contracts face to face.

The head of the Zhongshan Municipal Real Estate Transaction Management Center said that the center, together with the notary offices, has introduced online signing for electronic notarization. In addition to face recognition technology, it also uses video forensics and other methods to verify the identity of home buyers. It's available to all buyers including foreigners and compatriots from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, allowing them to sign contracts online anytime anywhere.

By the end of July, contracts of 979 commercial residential homes have been signed online through the system.
